I was out with Kahlil and Bam at the Glendale Galleria the other day and spotted this: an "Art Nail" Machine that can actually print designs and even photos from their built-in camera on your fingernail for $1. There are two polishes designated "Base Coat" and "Top Coat" that are chained to the machine (just in case someone wants to, um, steal the clear nail polish). I knew it would be kind of crappy-looking but the whole mechanism itself was kind of amazing.

First you put the base coat on and let dry a little. Then they ask you to put your finger in a mold and snap the cover closed to lock your fingernail in, with a special opening for your nail bed. Up pops a screen that shows your nail magnified and superimposes a snapshot flick over your nail. Then you can adjust the width, length, and color of the design. The machine starts printing on your nail like a PC printer and you can feel it buffing the design on. Finally, you put a layer of topcoat. Here's the finished product: definitely crapified but successful!
If they tweaked the machine a little, there is definitely potential for some highly-detailed amazing nails of the future!
