Introducing Kahlil Bayani de Leon Deocampo, born December 17, 2007 at 2:14pm at 7lbs, 3 oz.

It's been a long 9 month journey but my little bundle of joy is finally here! I've been out of the blog loop because the delivery was somewhat of a scary time for my fiance and I: I had to go under an emergency C-Section because Kahlil was in fetal distress and had to come out immediately. Unbeknownst to us, he was in posterior position (meaning facing up, not sideways as in normal birth) so it caused me and the baby a lot of pain. Every time I went into a contraction, his heart rate dropped suddenly from 150 bpm to 70. Our doctor decided to do a crash cesarean, and since I was heavily medicated at the time, Bam was left to view all the commotion in the hospital around me without much explanation or consolation. At the same time, my blood pressure was fluctuating as well, leaving him to think of only the worst in the long minutes before he was finally pulled in to the surgery room. Needless to say, at 2:14, out came a healthy baby boy with 20 fingers and toes and more perfect than we could have ever imagined. A week and one day later, I'm recovering quickly and my son is getting cuter and fatter by the minute.
Thank you to everyone who has been checking in on me and my family. The blog may be a little slow for the holidays, but come 2008, Guerilla Busfare got a lot more in store for you, I promise. Hope your holidays are going well, and blessings to all my faithful readers.
